Hey folks, here's yet another food brand Q for you...

My petsmart has recently started carrying the "by nature" line of dry and canned cat foods. By Nature had sent me a free sample and the cats seem to like it, so I took a look at the price the last time I was in petsmart. The 4lb bag costs ~ $8.99 (regular price) while the 4lb bag of nutro nat. choice indoor kitten is ~ $9.99 (on sale). So I thought I'd post the ingredients lists/breakdowns here and see what you guys think of this food vs. nutro.
Thanks for your help, as always.

Thanks for your help!

I had thought that by avoiding the "corn" the food would be better.. Isn't corn the most common allergin? My sister-in-law's cat might be allergic to corn, so I rec'd this food and gave her the adult sample bag they sent me.

Sharky- Can you tell me what kitten dry food you'd reccommend? I don't have many available locally...natural balance, castor and pollux, nutro, royal canin, blue buffalo, by nature, and avoderm. I *might* be able to special order through a health food store here, but it would be more reliable to get food that is regularly available.

I'll post the regular nutro nat. kitten below (for reference)... Can you tell us why it's better than the indoor?

Thanks again!

NO SOY protein
.. Soy is A HUGE cat allergy issue

Corn is a HUGE allergen in DOGS .. in cats it is an allergen but WHEAT and FISH and SOY are the main ones... and for some reason ( NO IT does NOT make sence).. many "corn allergic animals handle the corn gluten just fine... My Kandie
and Zoey are examples...

Corn = whole kernal ground up

corn gluten meal = protein part of corn

All the food listed are GOOD ... I suggest trying to get samples and seeing what is liked then reading the labels and comparing
