Adding more wet food to diet

I have two cats and one is overweight. I am planning to reduce the amount of dry food they get and increase the wet food. Currently I give them 1/4cup of dry food each twice a day and 1tsp of wet food each twice a day.

Does anyone know how much wet food I should feed them if I only give them like 1/8 cup of dry food once a day?

Brand or brands of food??

The fat cat is currently 16 lbs, and should be around 12. The other cat is 13 lbs. The wet food is Iams and I'm not sure of the brand name of the dry stuff but it's weight control food from the vet's office...

I would say increase the wet to a quarter can each twice a day

Hello, thanks for the help. I've changed their diet to 1/4 can of wet food each twice a day and then 1/3 cup of dry food each. I usually give them half of the dry food in the morning so they have something to munch on while I'm at work and the other half before I go to bed.

They seem to be hungry a lot though. They don't really whine much before I feed them but when I go to get the food out they whine a lot more than usual and really gobble it up. Am I feeding them enough? Maybe this is just because they're no longer overeating?
