I have a kitten who I found in the litter box looking pretty ill and there was this strange clear, gel-like substance coming out of its little anus. I smelled it and it didn't smell rancid, like feces or urine. It smelled sort of metallic.

I washed the kitten and then more of this stuff started coming out; it was very "goo-ey" but not sticky.

I was going to take him to the vet but later on he seemed better. Yesterday, I found him coughing and sneezing and thought maybe this had something to do with it. He seems perfectly fine now, running around, playing, eating, etc. But I'm still curious to know what this gel substance was.

Has anyone ever seen anything like this in one of their kittens?

have they been wormed atall? i would be a bit worried about the coughing and sneezing, plus in another thread you also said about the eye problems. i really do think they need to see a vet as i think they will need antibiotics.

PLEASE take him to the vet. Cats are very good at hiding their illness, so just because he "seemed" better does not mean that he was any better at all.

Please, PLEASE get that baby to a vet ASAP and keep us updated!
