Whew, time to catch up! Thanks Sarah

From: KitEKats4Eva!

1. What's the thing that makes you the proudest about being Australian?
Probably the laidback Aussie attitude - people we meet almost always say "oh cool you're from Australia, I'd love to go there!". It's nice to be from a place that has a good reputation.
2. Are you going to teach your child to enjoy Vegemite from a very early age??
ABSOLUTELY!!! Our boy will definitely grow up on Vegemite!
3. What's your favourite season in Australia, and why?
Summer summer summer!! I love the heat. Love the beach. Love to jump in the pool and I love that it means CHRISTMAS!! Everyone's always in a good mood
4. What's your favourite season in the US, and why?
Probably summer and autumn! It's been pretty nice year round here. Winter is very wet, and Spring makes my allergies go nuts, but summer has long, gorgeous days, autumn is really pretty.
5. Who do you think was / is Australia's greatest export? (actor, musician, etc)
I think Nicole Kidman - she's a good role model, she's classy, gorgeous and has managed to be in the spotlight without being controversial.
6. Where would you most like to raise your children?
Australia. I like the US, especially where we are in California, but I much prefer the Australian school and health care systems, and want to be closer to the family - we're all very close. We'll probably settle in Canberra and put Joshua through school there.
7. What's the very best part about being pregnant?
His movements! I love watching and feeling him move. He's such an active boy, and it makes me feel really attached to him not only being able to feel his move, but putting my hand on his belly and actually FEELING a limb rubbing against my hand. It's the most amazing feeling.

I've also been blown away by people's kindness and generosity. People have made such beautiful things, and given us so much stuff for the baby. I thought being over here we wouldn't be able to get many hand me downs from friends and family, but we know heaps of people with kids, and people I meet for the first time want to give me all their old stuff as well!!

Great q's!!

Hi Sarah!

Ok, who is your favourite kitty?
Hehehe I admit I do have a favourite - Lily. She's so sweet, and loving. She was so shy and has come SUCH a long way since we've had her, I'm so proud of her. She's a wonderful girl. And the least naughty!!!
Whats the funniest thing one of your kitties has ever done?
Oh geez. Stumpy running into the bedroom at 7am with a mousie in her mouth and the attached helium balloons trailing behind her was pretty funny. The girls always make us laugh - usually with their wrestling, and during "psycho hour".
Where is your favourite place in Australia?
Hmmmm..... Probably the Sunshine Coast in Qld. My nan lives there, and we spent so many weekends there as kids at the beach. It's such a laidback place, with gorgeous beaches, and somewhere I will always think of as a second home.

Yay more Aussie themed questions!!

From: Renovia
Congrats!

what's your favorite band/musician from US or Aust?
I love Missy Higgins and the John Butler Trio. Crowded House and INXS will always be favourites. I don't buy many CDs because I like particular songs, but current bands I like are Killers, Raconteurs, Plain White T's, Modest Mouse, Silversun Pickups and many more!
What's the scariest/least favorite thing about being pregnant?
That niggling "what if I'm not a good mum" thought....
what's your dream car?
If I could get a hybrid/electric Subaru Outback I'd be so happy!!!!!
Have you ever had Maine Lobster?
Yup!!! I was a camp counsellor at a summer camp in Maine back in 2000 and we had lobster at Bar Harbor and it was soooooo good!

Thanks Renovia!!

Oh... Sarah I hope you´re fine!...

Well now is turn of SarahP!Hi!....Congratulations & Welcome at this wonderful week....we try to be not deeply sneaking in your life! SO,...Today the topic would be the Mexican Stuffs…AJUA!!!.........Here we go..

1.- ¿Do you to know México?
I've never been but would definitely love to go!!! I've learnt a lot more about Mexico and Mexican culture since I've lived in California - definitely a bigger Mexican population here than in Australia!!
2.- ¿Wich part exactly?
I don't know where I'd go first - any recommendations????
3.- Can you speak spanish?
I can say, hello, goodbye, thank you, and count to 5. Maybe a few other words, but no sentences. We'd like to learn to speak Spanish though.
4.- Do you have some CD of Spanish music? do you like it?
No I don't. Friends a few doors down are from the Dominican Republic, and they were playing some music from some DR artists when we were last over and it was fantastic!
5.- Have you ever to watched a Mexican Movie? ( I mean with Spanish Dialogs?)
Nope... Can you recommend some good movies??
6.-Do you like the Mexican Food?( do you have any preference for example: burritos, Tacos, rice & beans, etc?)
My husband and I LOVE going out for Mexican!!! There's a fantastic Mexican restaurant near us we always go to. My favourite dish is chicken mole!! I love quesadillas as well. We almost always get quesadillas to share, then I'll get the chicken mole as my main and my husband tries out different things on the menu each time.
7.-Do you like the Tequila?...or else Mexican Alcoholic beverage?
My old section at work would always do tequila shots at 5pm when we had visiting staff, or a new person starting, but the taste is wayyyy too strong for me!!! My favourite Mexican beverage is Corona beer - especially on a hot day. Love it!
8.- Have you ever to sleeped in a hammock???
Yup, we used to own a freestanding double hammock in Australia that we had on our back patio and would regularly lie in. We had to give it away when we moved to the US because we knew we wouldn't have anywhere to put it. We'll definitely get another one when we have room!
9.- Have you ever to saw the traditional mexican clothes?
I've seen sombreros and serapes but have never worn them. I love the colours!
10.- Do you to know Cancun Mexico? ( Is a beach)
I've heard of Cancun, but never been. It sounds like somewhere you'd visit when you're 20 and want to have a lot of fun!!!!!

Thanks Rigel - love the Mexican questions!

Enought for today, ....see later my friend..

From: Bella713

Hey Sarah...Congrats on the Spotlight

Do the girls sleep with you at night?

They all come and go. Some nights we'll have all 3, other nights we'll have none. Lily generally comes in mewing for attention and throws herself at me purring her little heart out, then settles down between my legs and sleeps. Stumpy is also a between the legs cat - she loves curling up at the bottom of my Snuggle pillow where it curves around my feet. Smudge sleeps on my pillow or next to my chest and waits until daddy wakes up so she can get loving off him.

Which one of your girls personalities is the most like yours?

Ooooh good question!! Probably Stumpy... Like to be sociable, a little crazy, like to look after everyone and will come running if I think someone I'm close to is upset or hurt. I'm not quite as psycho as Stumpy though

Fess up....How much have you bought for the baby so far?

Oh dear. I don't think I've bought ANYTHING for the baby...
We've been given heaps of stuff, and I've found heaps I like, but I don't think I have actually bought him anything! Ooh I did buy those cute wall stickers! We're going to start preparing the baby room next week - need to get rid of the queen sized bed to make room to put things in. Once we do that I'll probably start buying things

Will you ever move back to Australia?

Yup, we'll head back in the next 2-4 years. We want Joshua to go through schooling in Australia, but if we have another child, we'll do it here since the specialists are much more informed about my heart condition.

How many hours a day do you spend on TCS?

At the moment - too many!!!! I'm not working and procrastinating from my studying, so this is my favourite thing to procrastinate with.

Thanks Helen!!!

From: SophieC

Congratulations Sarah!

I have some questions for you……….

~ If you could have ANY (paying) job in the world and be successful at it, what would it be?

Hmmmm.... Definitely something with animals! I'd love to work in a zoo, or do rescue work associated with wild animals. I find wild animals so fascinating. Oh oh oh - I know!!! I'd love to be David Attenborough's sidekick - that'd be my dream job - travelling and watching amazing creatures close up!

~ Who is your favorite singer?

~ Who is your favorite band?

Renovia asked a similar question so I'll just copy my answer!
I love Missy Higgins and the John Butler Trio. Crowded House and INXS will always be favourites. I don't buy many CDs because I like particular songs, but current bands I like are Killers, Raconteurs, Plain White T's, Modest Mouse, Silversun Pickups and many more!

~ What is your favorite flavor of ice cream?

Mmmmm I love Hokey Pokey, Choc chip cookie dough, and rich chocolate. My favourite local gelato shop has a creme brulee gelato that is to die for!

~ How many siblings do you have?

One brother, 22 months older than me.

~ What is your birth order?

I'm the youngest of 2!

~ How many nieces & nephews do you have?

2 gorgeous nephews who are almost 4 and almost 1. They are gorgeous, sweet boys who I love to bits!

~ Do you like shopping for antiques?

I love window shopping, but I rarely actually buy anything. I don't have a very good sense of design

~ What is your favorite color?

I don't really have one. I often buy things in red, pink and blue though.

~ Do you collect anything?

Just cats!

~ How many cats have you had since your very 1st one? What's the most you've ever had at one time?

We had Puss when I was very young who was a mean old feral, then we got Bonnie and Coco when I was 9/10 who only died this year
Then I bought Misty when I was 13 - so we had 3 then. Then when I was living out on my own we adopted Byron, who was living on the streets in a friends neighbourhood - he was my husband's first cat and we adored him. He got killed by a snake after only having him a year or so
Then we took in LC with the plan of rehoming her as we knew we were going to be moving to the US - she was going to be put down otherwise. We rehomed her successfully, then we now have our 3 girls. So these are kitties 7, 8 and 9, and 3 is the most I've owned at one time.

~ Cameras....do you prefer to be the picture taker or the subject?

Definitely the picture taker!!! I am not at all photogenic!

~ What kind of car do you drive?

A Toyota Prius which we love!

~ Residence.....own or rent?

Rent. We plan to buy in Australia in the next year or so and rent that out, then knock it down and rebuild our dream home once we move back.

~ Did you attend college or trade school?

Well... When I finished school I did a year at TAFE which I guess is like a trade school - I did a Diploma of Recreating in Sports Coaching, then went to university to do a Bachelor of Arts and hated it so dropped out and went travelling overseas. When I got back I started a Bachelor of Nursing/Human Movement double degree and hated it so dropped out. And now 10 years after finishing school I'm doing a Bachelor of Business externally through an Australian university and not only am I enjoying it, but I've actually completed 3 subjects so far and done fairly well.

~ What do you do for a living?

I've been working as a project manager/project coordinator the last few years and really enjoy it!

~ Have you ever been camping?

Yup, I love camping!!! Our next camping trip is next month - we're going to go up to the Jebediah Smith Redwood State Park in Northern California. Hopefully camping while 7 months pregnant isn't too uncomfortable!
From: Satai

Are you normally superstitious?

Not at all!!

Does the baby make it "worse"?

Nope, but I do worry a little more now I have another life to take care of
Camp Modin - a Jewish camp in Belgrade, Maine. I was a basketball coach and also had a bunk of 12-13 year old girls - whew, what a handful...

You'll have to save up again to go - it's a fabulous place!
We'll be back there in a few years, and you can stay with us

I love INXS - I went to a free INXS concert a few years back now with my mum on the river in Brisbane (Australia) when Jon Stevens was frontman for the band. They performed on this massive floating pontoon on the river, and you just sat on the waterfront of South Bank which is a big recreational area in the city with a man made beach, lots of cafes and restaurants, and areas for rollerblading and biking, and is generally a fabulous place to hang out.

It was SUCH a good concert

I've heard Merida is very nice - maybe we'll be able to get there one day!

Let see my friend with another set of questions to you!
The Topic of today would be Music

1.- Wich one is your favourite Genre of Music?

I guess I'd have to say alternative/rock. I'll generally listen to whatever is on the radio, but am not a big fan of pop music.

2.- How many Cd´s do you have?

I'm not a big CD person! I prefer to buy just the songs I like from iTunes, and the occasional album here and there also through iTunes.

3.- Wich one is your favourite singer Male?

I can't say I have one!! I do love listening to Chris Isaak crooning though...

4.- Wich one is your favourite singer Female?

Probably Missy Higgins - an Australian singer. If you go to www.missyhiggins.com you can listen to her latest album! Start with track 3 - Steer.

5.- Have you ever to listened at http://www.rippingtons.com/ ?????

I just went to their website now - that's really nice easy listening music!! Is that your favourite band?

6.- Do you have a CD collection? ( I mean for example all Cd´s from a determinate artist???

Nope. I do have a fair bit of U2's music though, who are also an all time favourite.

7.- Have you ever to participated in some Concert of your favourite artist?

I'm not a big concert person. I went to Big Day Out one year - an Australian music festival and saw some awesome bands there - Kosheen, New Order, White Stripes, Basement Jaxx, Regurgitator, Eskimo Joe, Gerling... heaps of great bands. Best of the day was being right up the front of the mosh pit for Garbage - Shirley Manson was awesome!!!!

I've been to see Chris Isaak live a couple of times, but nothing else recently. I was living in Canberra in Australia, and big bands never came to Canberra!

8.- Do you have any preference to listen a Radio FM station???

I listen to the local alternative radio station - Live 105 and also Nova 969 - a radio station in Sydney (Australia) - I listen to the live feed over the internet.

9.- In your own opinion wich one is better, a CD original from an artist or an MP3 collage of music without nothing of information?...

I prefer an MP3 collage of music - I like a variety!

10.- Do you play some Musical instrument?
…

Hahaha when I was in high school I played the euphonium, which is a small version of a tuba... it has more of a trombone sound. It wasn't very cool and I didn't stick with it

Thank you my friend in advance for your nicely answers, I beg you love the music like I!...

Thanks as always for the great questions!!!

Learning so much about you. Now for some more questions.

Hi Jana!!

1) What is your favorite holiday?

CHRISTMAS!!!! I lerrrrve Christmas! Certainly back home where most workplaces shut down between christmas and new year! We would spend christmas day with my grandparents on my dad's side, and eat and drink by the pool all day and all the family would come over so there'd be at least 20 of us. Then on Boxing Day (day after christmas) we'd go to my nan's on my mum's side and spend the day there with all the family on that side eating and drinking more and hanging out at the beach. Then each year we'd alternate - the next year christmas day with mum's side and then boxing day with dad's side. And now I have to throw in christmas with DH's family as well!!

2) Has anything ever happened to you that you cannot explain (something you think was supernatural)?

Nothing "supernatural" as such, but I had this odd connection with my family when I was travelling around the UK. I had a dream one night that something happened to my brother, and the next day my mum rang to say he'd been in a really bad motorcycle accident and was in intensive care and they thought he SHOULD live... Then when I was living and working in Oxfordshire (UK), 3 times in a row I was either thinking about my mum or talking to someone about my mum while working in the pub, and she rang just at that time. I remember the last time I was talking to a customer and was saying how the last 2 times my mum had rung I'd been thinking about her, then talking about her the next time. Then the phone rang. We all looked at each other, I answered the phone and mum said "Hi honey!". I was flabbergasted.

3) If you were a color, what would you be? Why?

I'd be a the colour of a raindrop - different bright colours depending on how you look at me (or get to know me).

4) What was the last book you read?

Well, I'm currently reading "Baby Bargains", Kidwrangling by Kaz Cooke (fabulous Aussie author, and I recommend it to any person about to have a child), and The Glass Lake by Maeve Binchy. Oh and an exciting textbook called "Government, Business and Society"

5) What hobbies do you have?

Catching feral cats to spay and neuter them....
Travelling if you can call that a hobby - DH and I love checking out new places. I've done some scrapbooking, and am about to start learning to knit.

6) Who has had the most influence in your life?

Definitely my mum. My dad died when she was 26, and my brother and I were 5 and 4 at the time. She put her through more education to be able to support us, and pretty much gave up her life to care for us. She never dated, and I never remember having babysitters so she could go out - she was always there for us. I remember her seeing one guy seriously while we were growing up, but it wasn't until my brother and I had just about graduated high school when she started dating again. Since then she goes out dancing at clubs regularly with her friends, has met a bunch of guys through online dating, travelled to a bunch of countries, and had a heap of fun. She's also gone back to university to do her degree part time while still working full time, and her grades are high enough to be accepted into the honours program. She is an AMAZING woman.

1.- Wich one is your favourite Genre of Movies?

I like romance, action, comedy and drama. I like a fairly wide variety

DVDs!!! Haven't owned a video in a long time! I don't know how many we have, maybe 80 or so?

3.- Wich one is your favourite Actor Male?

Don't have a favourite... There's not really any movies I'll see just because a particular actor is in it.

4.- Wich one is your favourite Actor Female?

I do really like Reese Witherspoon - I'll see anything that she's in and know I'll enjoy it!

5.- Have you ever to participated in some Special Event of your favourite artist?

I don't think so! We don't get too many big famous people where I lived in Australia!

6.- Have you ever to saw in live to some artist? ( I mean is some restaurant, buying at mall or in some resort?)

I got to shake Arnold Schwarzenegger's hand at a political thing he was at earlier this year - that was pretty cool!!!

7.- Do you like to watch the Oscar Awards?

If I have nothing better to do
I like watching everyone arrive on the red carpet, and will watch them if I'm home and remember, but I don't go out of my way to watch them!

8.- Have you ever to participated in a role in a Theather representation? ( maybe just for fun or when you was on School?) …

Haha I took drama at school even though I used to be quite shy and we did a big performance in front of heaps of people that we were assessed on. It was VERY scary!

9.- If you could to meet to some artist wich one would be and say us why!...

If I could meet anyone I'd actually love to meet Peter Jackson - the guy behind Lord of the Rings. He'd be fascinating to chat to! I'd love to know how he managed to make 3 movies at the same time and make them so well! I'd also like to meet George Clooney - he's done some interesting movies lately and is a keen environmentalist, I'd love to talk to him about that.

10.- Would you like to live next at some artist (? ( I mean for example your neighboor would be a TV anchor or else?)

Haha sure why not!! As long as they're nice people, liked cats, and invite me to meet other cool, famous people!

Great questions again Rigel!!

I'm away this weekend (actually at the hotel now, just using the free wireless internet while DH is doing stuff
), so will get to other questions on Sunday or Monday most probably!
