Am I the only one that isn't interested in Harry Potter?

I'm with you ^^^. Except I did see the first Harry Potter movie. I've never seen Star Wars or The Godfather.

I think sometimes hype can really kill something. It makes me not want to take it seriously.

I think anything that an 8 year old can read and relate to may be a bit too bland for me to handle.
(I don't have a very good attention span anyway)

Well, I am in the group that loves HP! I haven't seen the new movie yet, though.

I haven't seen HP either and don't plan on it

The kids went and seen the movie yesterday with thier summer day camp and liked it.

Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't HP just for kids?

I agree. It's how wonderfully richly drawn her universe is that I love.

Uh huh! And Orlando Bloom doesn't hurt the eyes either.

Yeah, I usually get turned off by hype. I wanted to read the first book as so many people had recommended them, then I got hooked.

I'm almost 100% with ya! I did see the first movie, but it wasnt by choice! My friend said we were going to see something else, yet somehow ended up sitting through 3 hours of Harry Potter. I think I fell asleep at one point!
Other than that, I havent had one smidgen of interest in HP.

That`s what I think too. The more I see a film advertised and talked about, the less I want to see it.Don`t know why really.

I waited about 10 years to watch Titanic but I loved that. I had to go and get all the Titanic books out of the library after and it made me

Oh, I really love the books. They are so interesting on so many levels. The names she uses for people and things are all so well thought-out and have a lot of symbolism. I guess that's why kids AND adults like them. The richness of detail interests the adults, and, well, what kid doesn't like magic?

I'm also one of those that would like a wand. (Last night I dreamt that my mom made me a cloak.

Haven't read the books but have seen the first two movies only because they were on network TV.
I want a magic wand, too.

My great grandfather claimed his aunt/stepmother was a real witch. (Yes, spelled with a "w".)

I'm not that big of a harry potter fan. I've read a few of the books, which I think are much better than the movies. The movies have never interested me though.

No, your not the only one Karen. I do not like anything Harry Potter, I once tried to watch one of the movies and I was completely lost in the first half hour.

I've seen one or two movies. Can't recall which or what happened in them really. They weren't bad, but certainly not Lord of the Rings either. Just a cute kids movie.

I don't really understand what all the hype is about the books or the movies, especially by adults. To me it sounds and looked to be a very "kids" type thing which I'm not really interested in.

If you find a Magic wand though let me know...I'll wave it over the Dyson and see if it can vacuum alone

I could add tothat, my life is full of fantasy I don't need anymore
