Am I the only one that isn't interested in Harry Potter?

No!
I`ve never seen the films or read the books.
Never seen Pirates of the carrabean(sp?) either. Just doesn`t appeal.

I like the books and movies, but I'm confused now after reading the books, then seeing the movies out of order from the books. I have books 4, 5 and 6, so need to get books 1, 2 and 3, then read the series again, and watch the movies after I've read the corresponding book so I don't confused as to where things are up to.

I'm certainly in no rush to buy the last book or see the current movie.

I have never read any of the books and probably won't even though I'm an avid fantasy book fan. Just doesn't hold much appeal for me. As for the movies, I tried to watch the 1st one but only made it halfway through. It just bored me

Actually the only books I've read by Anne Rice were under her pen name

I can't say I dislike them, I just don't have any interest to read them myself. I think it's great that they got so many kids (and adults) into reading, though!

As for Anne Rice...The Witches books were only good through the first one. Lasher and Taltos just got weird. The Vampires books were good through Memnoch, IMO, but after (and including) Tale of the Body Thief they just got redundant and dumb. After Stan died, you could tell she was only writing them to either fulfill a contract or make money. No heart in them at all. Now she's writing Christian books. Go figure.

Well if someone told me years ago that I would like these books I would say no way not my type at all...But I really like to read whatever my nieces and nephews are into, and I love the books/movies, I also love to be able to discuss them with my nieces and nephews...I am the COOL Aunt after all

I'm Harry Potter neutral. Nothing against it, it just isn't my style. I actually did read the first two books, and they are indeed fairly interesting stories, I just can't really get into it.
