Well our 11 week old Somali kitten, has picked up a new behavior that I find gross and degusting.
He poops in the dry food bowl.
We have litter boxs and he also uses these. As he eats I have noticed what I call 'leaf covering' Our cats wild ancestors would cover their prey with leaves and brush in order to hide the spoils of their kills from other animals. I saw this TV show walkng wth prehistoric beasts about a carnivore fighting for his kill with two other rival carnvores (long fancy names cant remember) to foil them off he/she defecated on the meat to drive the others away. Could it be that the kitten knows hes the smallest cat in the household and is feeling threatened by the new strange cats?
.
Or could it be litterbox issus, he uses the litterbox fine though?
