Hi, my name is Libby'sMom, and my husband I have recently adopted our first cat Libby (which is short for Liberty as her b-day is July 4th). I'm totally clueless when it comes to cat care. I know the essentials of feeding and keeping her area cleaned, but everything else I'm lost.

My husband just likes cats so we adopted her because she was going to be put asleep because she was aggressive to the last owner's children. The little girl was 8 and stared at the cat constantly, and they were clueless too on how to care for her.

So right now she's on Prozac as per the vet. We've had her for almost a week now, so we're learning day by day. I have lots of questions, so I'm going to head over to the behavior area to ask away.

Hello & welcome to TCS. Libby looks a little like my Blossom, at least the expression on her face. She's gorgeous. Blossom has & still is sometimes a little feisty. Take it slow & as you said there's lots of info on here.

Aww thank you guys. Right now she's ignoring me. She's in the room with me, but she's perched in the window. I called to her and she looked at me, but she wouldn't come. When I leave to go to the bedroom that's when she'll come.
