Hello,
Can you please help me to determine the age of these kittens? I rescued them from our parking garage yesterday when it was about 110 degrees outside. They were very hot. They will drink from a bottle a little and they will eat canned paste food mixed with KMR. What I need to know is: are they still young enough to need stimulation for pee and poo?
The rescue where I volunteer says that they can take them next week when a kennel frees up, so me and the hubby (and Pooh) will be fostering for a bit.

Thanks!

Hmm, no. I don't have a scale that small. I could ask around to see if anyone else does.
I am guessing that they may not "go" for a day or two because they were so dehydrated that they might need all of the fluid they are taking in. I did put a small litter box in their cage just in case.

In Steelers Country!
I'm not very good a judging ages, so I won't even try.
I just wanted to say how adorable they are and bless you for bringing those little sweeties in out of the heat.

Well one of them just took a poo, so that makes me feel better. I don't know how to teach them to hit the litter box though. Any advice??

put them in a crate or small room with one and they should get it. keep putting them in it and rub their feet in it.

There's no place like home
I also think they look to be about 6 weeks and shouldn't need any stimulation from you by now. Agree with Jen, but will add if they poop outside of the box, place the poop into the box so they can relate the 2.

Jen and Mom,
I just happened to be there yesterday when one started to poo so I lifted him up and put him in the box. I gave them a clean pan last night and like a little miracle, there was poo and pee in it this morning, slightly covered!
They tipped the water dish over again, so I don't know if they had any misses. But yeah!
