Hi Guys,

My mom knows I am on TCS most every day, and asked if I would post this question for her....

First, a little background...Her cat, Kiki, is 16 years old. She has never been a vocal cat, and instead would just give breathy squeaks when she wanted something. Lately, every day after she eats breakfast, she goes into my parents' walk-in closet and loudly meows until Mom comes and moves her out. There is nothing of hers in the closet (no toys, litter boxes, beds, etc.) and the house has been checked for mice or bug issues. When Mom goes in there, Kiki is just standing in there doing nothing

Mom wants to know if anyone can think of any reasons why she would do that. She's never done anything like this before. She does not seem to be in any sort of distress when she's doing it either.

Several things could cause it (given her age).

1. She's going deaf and therefore thinks she is lost and keeps crying loud.

2. She's starting to exhibit some senility.

I'd have her completely checked out by the vet to be sure nothing is wrong physically.
