I thought I'd share a couple of drawings!

Here is Frisco in ink!

And Misty in pencil!

I used to draw a lot throughout high shcool, but I have lost the patience for it.
I still draw from time to time but it takes me forever to finish!

Thank you!

If anyone else likes to draw their cats, feel free to post your work! I'd love to see.

I spent more time on the Misty one, and I'm better with a pencil.
I think it's my very favorite of all my drawings.

Do you have any more you can show us? The two you have posted are lovely and I'm sure none of us would complain if you posted a few more!

I don't draw cats that often because they're tricky things to draw, but I do draw other animals, fairies, dragons, etc. quite a lot.

Sure.
(Sorry for the poor quality of some of them)

Here is one of a Maine Coon kitten I drew at age 14:

Rottweiler, also age 14:

Scrubby-Creek's Destiny, age 15:

Charlie, age 16:

Border Collie (in pen), age 17:

Sorry they all aren't cats.

Yes, I'm sure you would do well as a professional pet portrait artist! You could market yourself through cat shows and online... you really do have a very fine talent.

Hehe thanks. Last summer I drew pet portraits and made $180.

Wow. I posted that before I saw the Charlie drawing. What are you doing for a living? If it's not art, quit. You are an ARTIST.

I'm the same way. I have a bunch of unfinished and drawings/paintings I need start. For me, it's a matter of feeling good enough to work on them. Unfortunately I lost the stuff I had from high school, I also sold some of it.

You improved a lot between ages 14 and 15, even perfected your style a bit more at 16. From the smudged look to a very clean crisp shading that looks so much better.
What caused that change? Art classes? Art books?

Nothing yet. :p But I'm taking office administration and hoping to find a secretary job. At first I thought about taking fine arts but I just don't love drawing as much as I used to.

Well, my grade ten art class teacher wouldn't allow smudging
and I also wanted to find ways to improve. I'd browse a lot of art sites for inspiration & practiced different styles until I found one I was happy with.

Those are great! I would love to see more of your art, even if it isn't of cats. By the way, where in Canada are you from?

Your artwork is wonderful!!!
Since you asked, here's the ones I have in photobucket that I drew (I made them clickable because I felt kinda funny putting them in your thread! But since you asked, I would love to share! These have been floating around here a bit- not exactly new to some people who saw the cookbook cover contest, or the poster contest-lol. Thanks!

They are all fantastic! I really like the drawing of Charlie

You could earn so much for pet portraits. I paid £50 for a pastel drawing of our old dog for my dads birthday. ( Think that`s about $100 )
Whatever you do with your talent, it would be a shame not to use it.
