My boyfriend of one and a half years is a little less than four years older than me. We met when I was sixteen and he was twenty. A lot of people frowned on it, but I never saw it as an issue.. before that, I had a seven year age difference(that one was a little weird simply because I was in high school) and a three year one(thirteen to sixteen). I'm not sure WHY it's taboo, but I guess some people just see it as strange.

The older you get, the less it matters.

Well, currently me "SO" are my 2 cats who are 9 and 15 years old!

Seriously though. While I don't have a current SO, I tend to date men between 6 and 10 years younger than me. I have dated a couple of guys who were 12 and 14 years younger (they in the mid to late 20's), but it was a generation gap. They were more into going out and partying and working long hours to get their careers established while I'm more of a stay at home type person and believe work should be left at the office at the end of the day.

I have been involved in dating sites including "eHarmony" that site that matches you based on 29 dimensions. They don't give you any control over the age limit you want to set for dating and they automatically decide that if you're a woman there is a certain age range that you should date which for me was something like from my age up to 12 or 15 years older than me. Dating someone who is 15 years older than me at this point would make him 60 years old! I'm not interested in dating a guy 60 years old, maybe when I'm 60, but certainly not now.

My significant other is three years older than me.

I would have been the high school freshman dating the senior, but we met in our twenties.

You should try okcupid.com. It's much better than eharmony.

Movin' on up!
For most of my life, my men have been between 6 and 27 years older than I. In my teens, I dated men in their 20s, in my 20s it was men in their 30s (two were in their 50s and I married one of those). My entire 30s were spent with a man who was 10 1/2 years older and I was with him, until I was 43. My last S/O was 12 1/2 years older. this past year, my dates have been between 50 and 57. At 49, I'm finally dating men, in my own age group.

Friends have been telling me to try younger men. Well, I just started chatting up a guy, who will be 49 in two weeks. Is 7 1/2 MONTHS younger ENOUGH?

I'm registered on Cupid.com and have set my age range 45-60. Much younger, we have nothing in common and much older, they can't keep up with me.

I turned 24 this May, & Evan turned 41 this June. We officially started dating, May last year (I just turned 23, & he was 40.) We had been talking to each other for about 7 months before we proclaimed our love for each other.

There is just over a year between my SO and I, although I've dated people both ypunger and older. The oldest was 36 when I was 24, the youngest was 20 when I was 26! That was a brief fling in Mexico though

I'm going to be 46 next month and my SO hits the big 50 in Oct.
We met when I was 41 and he was 45.
Age does not matter to me as long as there is the bond.

Exactly...though I see I am almost the only woman on the board who married such a younger man, our families have noted we are perfectly suited for each other. Truly a match made in heaven

I'd dated handsome men, rich men, poor men, not so handsome men..nothing ever mattered to me but who they were, their heart/character/soul. That was what was most attractive to me.

Almost, maybe, but not the only one.

My first husband was 2.5 years older than me and it didn't work out at all. BTW, I can completely see why a woman who is 18 to 25 years old wouldn't want to date a man ten years her junior, LOL!
