Movin' on up!
Hooray! After two days of rain and cold, the sun is back and we're headed for the high 50s! The overnights are below freezing, though. Last night, BOTH cats came to bed. I felt like the meat in a sandwich - Bill snuggling on my right and Opie on my left. Rowdy likes the foot of the bed.

Now that the sun has, finally, melted the frost on my car windows, I'd better get moving: grocery store, gas station and library. I'm making prime rib for dinner and have no potatoes or onions!

Have good one!

Well at least I don't have to work tonight! It has been rough working overtime for the last 2 night and last night I didn't work with my car pool people so I then had to bus home (over 1 hour trip). I really am not in a work mood today. I am a little upset with my supervisor. I am 1 of 3 technical advisors in our unit, but I have only been doing it for about 1 month. The other 2 have been doing it for 2 years and 1 is leaving within the next 2 weeks for maternity. Has has taken the 2 of them out for a lovely extended lunch and I wasn't even invited. I know I haven't been doing it long, but I have been working my rear off learning what I need to learn to take over for the person going on mat leave! I am wrong to be upset here?

No. I would be upset too. That's very bad teambuilding and smacks of exclusion. You might only be new in the dept, but you should be included. I think it's unfair.

Adrienne: Yes, you have the right to be mad! But don't let it bother you.... I'm sure your hard work will be noticed and appreciated!

Keep up the good work

Ady~I'm sorry to hear that you weren't included in the lunch. But, like the others have said, don't let it bother you. I would feel the same way if I was in your situation too. I guess they just don't realize that they wouldn't have anyone to replace her if it wasn't for you!

Its a little bit chilly here, but still way above normal temps. The boss who handles our contract at the customer site we work at treated us all to lunch today.
So, we all ordered in pizza!
There are 5 of us here. (Me, and 4 people who run the mailroom)

Later tonight, I have to make food for our potluck tomorrow at work. Fun fun!
Tomorrow is my last day of work, then I'm off for 5 days, back to work for 1 day, then off again for 3 more days. I can't wait to sit home and relax.

Have a good day everybody!! :daisy:

Ady, I would be upset. That is rude. I mean, it's not like inviting an extra 50 people. It was 1, and it was you. Myself, I normally say something. It kind of makes people think twice. Sometimes, it's not intentional and when it is, you notice it in their expression. Maybe even go and get the person going on maternity leave a card, give it to her and mention that you did not want her to think you had chose not to go. The decision was made for you. But then again, most people believe it's better to leave things as is. Only you know what can make you feel better.

Well.....will this year EVER end??????? My mother-in-law tripped over a bag last night and broke her foot. She is home from the hospital sporting a knee to toe cast. I feel bad for her after everything that just went on. And to top it off, she is my babysitter so I need to do some quick thinking. I've never had to be without her.

*sigh* I need a vacation. Somewhere far, far away where problems can't find me!

On a bright note. I ended up with part of a day off today. I took Nicolas to work with me this morning and this afternoon, I think we will decorate the tree.

Have a great day everyone!

P.S. My grandmother has more or less taken a turn for the worse. She has a high fever now. They are injecting something under her skin (have no idea what that will accomplish) and are giving her 24-48 hours. And then, they will be looking at her papers to see what her wishes are. Looks like this is going to end up being pretty darn close to Christmas. Not that it isn't already but, I think we may be heading out that way sometime next week. Unless she miraculously pulls through. I just remember when mom was on life support. She ended up with pneumonia and her fever was uncontrollable. They had fans all around her. This just all seems to be like some kind of 'deja vu'. And the ending was not a happy one...

Okay, before I end up sounding too much like "Flo" (yuck!) I will sign off and talk to everyone soon.

The supervisor told me point blank I wasn't invited in front of everyone in the unit - he said he will take me out next year! I am sure the other 2 wanted me to go, but since he was paying. BTW they took an hour and 45 minutes for their lunch, but everyone else at work only get 30min top! I hate double standards.

Ghys - I am keeping you in my prayers! Your poor family has gone thru alot! Is your grandmother in Toronto? Is there anything I can do?

Wow, a supervisor with people skills (NOT). I feel for you. That must not have been a fun thing to go through. He could have at least had a private conversation with you. I hope, when next year comes around and he does invite you, that you politely tell him what to do with his invitation.

My grandmother is in Riviere-du-Loup, (near Gaspe). Thank you for the offer. I would have probably taken you up on a cup of coffee. I really wish you had been there 2 years ago. I spent 9 days at Sunnybrook in Toronto with mom.

Just keeping me in your prayers is plenty.

Cindy, Prime Rib....Yum.

Sarah, it's pot luck season at our office too!
