Hi there! My name's Amanda but everyone calls me Patches. I'm a graphic designer and artist near Pittsburgh PA, USA. Now on to my kitties.

I have one cat myself right now, but I have lived with them my whole life.

Dominoe is my independent diva kitty. She knows her name and chooses to ignore me. She hides all day not coming when I call but when I'm needing to be productive she want attention and nibble son my toes and coos at my feet. When I practice my singing she straddles herself on the arm of my chair and watches me. She's come running from anywhere when I'm singing haha. I don't know why it's so entertaining

She was found in the woods at about 10 weeks old by my friend's mother who took her to the vet to get checked out and be administered her shots. Then given to me as a birthday present a little over two years ago. She's grown to be a big girl. I'm so glad she's never tried to scratch me, her paws are so big!

She's also very photogenic!

The second cat in our household belongs to my housemate but me and his girlfriend pretty much raised it. Victor Von Doom came from a pack of barn cats. We thought for the longest time she was male. She's dirty, hyperactive and amiable. Took her to the vet to get neutered and they were like "it's be an extra $40 cuz this is a girl!". So now it's not "victor Von Doom" as much as "Victor-Victoria" haha. She's D's best friend. She's a little over a year old and the best word to describe her would be "insane". She wants attention all the time, eats weird things (craisins and JELLO for example) and chases pixies all over the house when she's not tormatenting the other two cats.

She's not a terribly pretty cat but her personality is A+. Especially when she's faucet worshipping or keeping your feet warm with her fat butt.

Kat is the last member of our household. She belongs to my other roomate Meg. Meg's had her for a loong time. Kat is over 10 years old. She's well....really nice to people but loathes the other two kitties. I like wearing her about the house like a stole around my neck while she cuddles in my air and drools on my shoulder haha.

We've been worried abou ther lately because she's started losing ALOT of weight. Like, you can feel bones you shouldn't feel and she's been throwing up her food at least twice a week. I'm thinking IBD but I hope it'snothing worse. She's really happy otherwise and wouldn't know anything is wrong with her. We've tried switching foods and stuff and nothing's worked. Gonna try fiber supplements to see if that does anything.

I don't have any pics of cat as she's not very photogenic and can't seem to sit still enough to have her pic taken. I'll try when I'm not so tired though haha. But she's a medium-long hair orange/white tabby cat. Very fluffy and scrawny.

So yeah, those are my (well at least one legally haha) kitties.

Thanks guy ^^ This forum is so genial

Yeah I tell Meg at least every other day that Kat needs a vet. If I had the $$ to spare I'd lend it to her. She ofhandedly says "yeah, I need do do that" and I'm afraid she'll get to it whe it's too late!

She's also started peeing places she shouldn't that smell like mommy. She has't always done this and sometimes she'll even head right to the litterbox to go number 2 afterwards. I think she's telling us something is wrong, but Meg just worries and does nothing about it. It makes me sad.

You Cat is doing everything she can do to communicate with you that she isn't feeling well and needs to go to a vet. She could have a thyroid condition or any number of illnesses. Peeing out of the box is just about the only way for a cat to tell her person that something isn't right. Please, please, please get this poor kitty to a vet. I can't tell you how important this is. If money is a problem, perhaps you can work out payment terms with your vet. It just isn't right to make the kitty who depends on you suffer.

Thing, is, she's not my cat. Other than throwing up every now and then and peeing on the bathmat and stuff, she's a perfectly fine kitty it seems. Happy-go-lucky. I know this does not mean she's healthy.

I think Meg's not so quick to take her to the vet because of this. Also, she's been doing this for almost a year now. I agree that she does need to be taken to a vet, and I sorely wish there were something I could do, but Meg just won't do it. There's always a financial excuse. Like I said I keep telling her things it may be like IBD or a thyroid problem, and she listens, but then does nothing because she's broke. We live int he boondocks. The vets around here are very expensive. Had to take my cat to the humane society over an hour away to get spayed because the cheapest vet around here (a cat hospital) wanted over $250 for the procedure. I tell Meg to take her to the Humane sociey but again, she just...doesn't.

The cat's always been a bag of bones (her nickname is BOBcat), but she hasn't been vomiting her whole life. I could just be misjudging her size since I've always owned beefy cats.

As sad as it is, I think she's ignorantly making excuses to save her wallet by putting it off and putting it off. "Oh it was mostly a hairball." "Kitty! It's been a while since you've done this!" and the like

I'm gonna try and guilt-trip her again today and see if it works. I think she gets paid this week. I might even make a few phone calls/emails on her behalf.
