My torti, Molly, drags her butt on the floor after pooping. It appears that she hasn't finished either! She doesn't do it everytime, but sometimes once or twice a week. Any ideas?!?! Could it be related to her age??? I caught her pooping on the bathroom rug the other day and trying to cover it up. She has NEVER done that before - at least it was solid!
~~sorry this is a little graphic - children can be sooo embarassing~~

In my own world, its much nicer there
I'm to understand they do that when they have worms, you know itchy butt so only one way to scratch it and thats by dragging their butts along the carpet.

It might pay to have her checked by a vet. The pooping thing might be due to her age, depending on how old she is.

Full or infected anal glands, worms and also constipation can cause it.
My cat Kitty does it occasionally when he gets constipated.

They're strictly indoor cats, so I don't think they can get worms...

Strictly indoor cats can get worms, mine did, and he's been indoors with me for almost 2 years. He was a stray at 4 mos when I got him. The vet said it's caused by fleas, he's never had fleas that I've noticed, but who knows, he may have not had symptoms and had these worms for a while, so it is possible.

Do I need to take her to the vet to determine if that's the problem, or do they just need a "sample?"

i would take the cat into the vet. if its impacted anal glands, they need to be expressed. if its worms, then the need meds per body weight , age, etc.
