Iv had an awful few months,i got really sick and was vomiting every half hr in the middle of the night. Whilst i was being ill in the night i heard a strange noise coming from my back yard but i was to ill to go see what it was. The next morning my husband found my guinea pig daisy dead, she was only 2 and we have no idea why she died because she was perfectly healthy. She lived with her best friend dolly who is a bunny and they loved eachother sooo much i worried that dolly would get lonely.
So after daisy died we bought a new guinea pig for dolly and they got on well but dolly was never the same after daisy died. Then 2 weeks after daisy died we had to get dolly put to sleep cos she refused to eat she was also aged 2,the vet says she was depressed and is refusing to look after herself anymore, she seemed to lose the will to live. So i lost 2 babys in 2 weeks and 3 babys altogether this year
Now we had a lone guinea pig to sort out,we got him a little guinea pig friend and they seem happy enough.
It annoys me when people say that bunnys are silly brainless creatures cos they have such a big heart and im just happy that dolly and daisy are back together again. I miss them both so much.....

I'm so sorry for your losses. That is so sweet how Dolly and Daisy were best friends. I know they are together again. RIP

I'm so sorry for the loss of your babies.
Just try to remember that they loved each other in life and now they'll be able to play together forever.

Rest In Peace sweet babies.

Janine, I'm so sorry you lost Daisy and Dolly. Any loss is hard, but multiple losses close together are especially hard.

It annoys me when people say that bunnys are silly brainless creatures cos they have such a big heart
It annoys me, too. They're bright little people in their own right, whatever their outward appearance. And they form attachments and grieve when they lose their loved ones, just as humans do. Bless you for trying to help Dolly by adopting another guinea pig to keep her company after Daisy died. (Sometimes adopting another furbaby helps a lot, but not always; I'm sorry it didn't in this case.) I think you did the right thing, too, adopting another guinea pig after Dolly crossed over, so the guinea pig you'd adopted to help her won't be alone.

There's a very interesting, helpful book by Kim Sheridan, Animals and the Afterlife, that might help you now. Kim runs a Rat Rescue and because she's rescued so many, she's also lost a lot of pets over the years, and she's mourned each one as a unique individual, both here and on the other side. I know quite a few people who've found her book comforting.

I'm so sorry you've been ill, too, and I hope you're better now.

Cindy
