I'm new at this so bear with me. I'm the owner of 5 cats. My very first one has disappeared. She was a stray when I took her in and hardly ever went outside, I quess i should tell you I've had her for over 8 years now. In the last week she had been acting totally out of charcter for her she was always trying to get out., so I let her go my other 4 go out all them time and come in and out all the time. I live in a rural area. Well saturday nite she wouldn't let me catch her to bring her in, so I had to let her stay out.,now I haven't seen her since. Some of my friends tell me some animals will go off when their going to die has anyone ever heard of this? I am just sick over this.

Sadly, if she is sick, in strays many do want to go off and just hide. They just simply find a dark hole and go to sleep. If she isn't spayed, then she is off and will be back more than likely pregnant. http://www.lost-pets.org/ may help you locate her.

I hope she comes back soon. I know you are worrying yourself sick. Yes, it is true some cats leave when they know it's their time, but hopefully that isn't the case here. Just keep looking for her, and don't give up.

I hope she comes home soon.

Like hissy said, sometimes they do go off to die
but they seem to want to go to a special place, maybe it means something to them and they want or need to be there in their final moments.

But I hope all turns out well and she just comes home all happy with a 'what were you worried about?' look on her face

Surrounded by animals !
My neighbours kitty, the brother too My Special one, I lost too the evil road a while ago...he went missing, no one seen him for say 6 weeks....anyway we suspect he was also victim too a car, his remains were found under their car ( the car was not used at all ) maybe he was injured or hit, and went there too die. However ...my Wookie ( my special ones brother ) was also hit
but he made it home too his outside basket..hence he is indoors now ! as are my others, cept the 2 older boys of 7 and 10 years old, they have earnt their right too come and go as they please I feel. Many many thoughts go through ones mind at times like this. I pray for your kitty to return, and even if she returns pregnant..at least she will be home

Aw, sorry to hear this. It is heartbreaking when a kitty leaves and never comes back. I had my first cat when I was 7 and about 5 years later he just never came home. I was heartbroken.
I never did find out what happened to him... sending a kitty hug your way...

Exactly! It is pure torture not knowing where she is!!

I will keep her and you in my thoughts and prayers, for a safe return for your kitty.
