Is this my future?

I was joking around with one of my closest friends last night - she likes to tease me about my herd of cats.

She told me, "I can see it now. Someday, when you finally have your own house, you will have a minimum of three cats PER ROOM."

I started to try to protest...thought about it, and realized that if I could afford it, I would absolutely have that many kits.
(Key words: Afford it)

I told her that as much as I love them, I can't have more than my budget will bear. Having recently learned that Penny eats enough for two, I think I'm maxed out at the moment.

But...yeah...I'd want to have a passel if I could. In reading Lookingglass' thread about her three-kitty escort to the lav, I started thinking that I really don't mind being followed around or "escorted" by my kits. I kind of like it, actually.

Is this my future? To someday be owned by an entire herd?

And would that be such a terrible thing Betsy? I love having my wake up call being a fuzzy body and a purr.

Now that we have a bigger place, John wants to add a 3rd to our family... I said no! I was thinking with my checkbook, not my heart, mind you!

My family is allready calling me the crazy cat lady and i'm only 26 and have 3 cats!!

I don't mind anyone haveing many cats as long as they are healthey well cared for and are socialized. Oh yeah and have a home that does not smell like a potty box.. if you can't keep em clean you can't have that many.

We might as well all face it--we're doomed to be crazy old cat ladies with a creaky old rocking chair and a rusty old shot gun. Or maybe we'll be like the one on the Simpsons.. chucking cats at any daring neighborhood children who venture too close! Hahaha.. =D

There are people who simply can't say no if a cat asks for help. I said, on TCs no less, that my limit was three, financially and emotionally, but then four others came into my life and needed me. Sadly I lost one along the way, but I could never have turned any of the ones I have away. We would all rather not eat ourselves, or go without treats and clothes, than see a cat hungry or in need of care. That is the way we are. we crazy cat ladies. Join the club, it's a good one!

With all of my pets, I'm always teased for practically having a zoo.
And because cats seem drawn to me, my father in law has said I'm like the pied piper of cats.

I would love my boyfriend SOOO much more if he let me add more to our family! If I was single I would be over run with cats, but my boyfriend (John) won't let me have a lot.

Just this weekend I had to seriously put my foot down when my daughter (14) wanted to rescue kittens at her friend's house (2 momma cats, 5 babies, 1 unneutered male.
AARGH!) BUT...I had her take pictures on her phone and may have homes for 2 of them. (I even offered to fix the mommas for them, but they turned me down.
)

5 cats and 2 dogs are...well, too much, but enough anyways!

I love the cat lady in the Simpsons, no matter how many times I see it, I always split my side when the cat lady comes on
. I loved the episode where she said she has brain damage (or something to that effect) give me another cat.

You lot can be the crazy cat ladies and I'll be the crazy cat man hows that?
