Well I'm such a sap.

As I've previously mentioned, we are moving this Wednesday to a different apartment and took in, bathed and so forth , a pregnant kitty that was abandoned by previous owners.

Well last night it was record breaking temperatures here. The other apartment has no air conditioning and I felt really bad leaving her all alone in that heat for two days (I actually checked on her three times yesterday, she was happy as could be, purring and jumping on my lap, not ONCE trying to escape like I had imagined a cat that had been outside for a couple of months would do!!!)...sooo, we brought her to our place and let her sleep in the bedroom with us. Around 2am, I couldn't really sleep so I put my hand on her belly and then woke up my husband because I felt tiny little bubble-like movements. Some were stronger than others. Could that be the babies kicking? What is it supposed to feel like???

I just didn't want to mistake gas for babies.

I read of pregnant cats being extremely affectionate, and she is off the charts clingy and sweet...I'm going to feel her belly again today, because if it is the babies, that's the sweetest thing EVER...but I want to make sure I know what I'm looking for!!!!

Aww, she's very cute. This year I've had three pregnant foster kitties, and with the first one I wasn't sure at all what I was feeling. It felt like tiny bubbles, or a "fluttering" feeling, like you described, but I thought it may be gas at first. Over the next few days, it got a lot stronger and eventually it became very obvious that it was the babies. With the other two girls, I had no doubt in my mind that those little flutterings were babies.

I've never had a pregnant cat so I can't offer any advice in that area.
I just wanted to say what a beautiful girl she is and bless you for taking her in.

She is beautiful. If you've ever felt a pregnant woman's belly when her baby moves, that's what kitty bellies feel like as well. If not, it feels very odd, like those twitches that people get in their eyes and legs and so forth... if you can imagine what it would feel like to put your palm over that, that's exactly how it would feel. Just maybe not as twitchy...lol I don't know
