Hello, my neighbor found a small kitten(appears to be between 1 and 2 weeks old) under his porch about 2 hours ago, and left it with me as he works nights. The mom and the rest of the litter were taken to the pound at about noon, and I guess they didn't find this one. She looks healthy to me. I have very little experience with kittens, and I'm not sure what I should do. I bought it a small baby blanket, some Hartz milk replacement formula, and a couple of bottles.

I don't want to overfeed her, and I definately don't want to starve her, so my main question is, how often should I feed it? I've read a few articles before finding this forum, so for now I'm thinking every couple of hours? And to replace her mothers tounge, I'm going to use a warm, damp cotton pad, would that work or should I find a washcloth or something similiar?

Also, I have a Chihuahua and I'm keeping her locked up in my bedroom for now. I think I may have to keep her for a month or 2 as I can't think of anyone that would be able to take such a young kitten, so when do you think she would be able to be introduced to my dog, if at all?

Any suggestions would be appreciated!
