I have absolutely zero energy today. I'm generally fine in the mornings, but this morning I woke up, couldn't drag myself out of bed, but had to to drive DH to work at a bit before 9. I was like a zombie driving in, and was having issues concentrating.

I got home, and went back to bed at 9:30, slept until 11:45, got up and have just pretty much sat on the couch ever since and now I'm yawning my head off again at 2:45pm and would love another sleep, but not sure if it's a good idea.

I'm thinking about going to the fruit and veg market, in the hope that it'll wake me up a little, but I don't think I have the energy to leave the couch...

I don't know if it's a pregnancy thing or what - I certainly haven't felt this exhausted before...

You're pregnant and have a heart condition. Listen to your body and if it says "too tired to do anything" aka Exhausted! Then don't do anything.

I would also make an appointment with your cardiologist ASAP to make sure that things are ok.

Making a new human is an exhausting undertaking. Sleep when your body says to and don't feel guilty or like you should push yourself. Checking in with your doctor, as Natalie_ca suggested is a good idea.

If I had just mutliplied cells by the billions I'd be tired too!

Go ahead and rest! It sounds like your body is telling you that you need it! Indulge while you still can!

If my DH says "why are you so tired?", or "what have you been doing", I usually say "I've been busy creating life"

I'm seeing my obstetrician on Wednesday, so I'll just see how it goes tomorrow. It might just be a "had a busy weekend, need more sleep" thing.

I watched this comic once who had a great speil about his wife being pregnant. When he came in at the end of the day, saw nothing had been done and their home was a mess, he asked what she had been doing all day, she replied with something like, "Me? Well, today I created a kidney and now I'm working on a heart. What have you done?" He said she won every time with that argument

Sending healthy vibes to you!

You're having to work lots in building all of that bone and muscle and other stuff. I'm glad you are seeing a doctor soon just to make sure everything is ok. You have a lot of people waiting for this baby.

Thanks guys, I'm sure it's all fine. I notice every now and again I feel a bit more tired and eat like a horse, so I wonder if he goes through growth spurts at those times?

Oh and I LOVE those comics!!!!! So funny

Kids go through growth spurts in utero and out. You can tell by your appetite and energy level. You'll also notice it when he arrives and has one because he will eat like a fiend and be very tired and maybe weepy (growing hurts - you ache). Kevin is having a major growth spurt right now and is miserable, tired, hungry and complains that he hurts all the time.

You are approaching your last trimester aren't you? That alwyas make you feel like a slug. All you want to do is sleep, but you can't get comfy, so you don't sleep well which makes you more tired. It is a vicious cycle.

It will be over before you know it and then you will have a new little life to bring you untold joy! The 1st time you hold that little life in your hand you know that everything you have been through has been worth it!

Sarah, if you still feel this way in TWO DAYS, then PLEASE call your cardiologist. Extra fatigue could be your heart telling you something.

I'm going to be worried about you now until after you see your OB/GYN on Wednesday.

As for today, just SLEEP!

I'll officially be in my last trimester on Friday!
And you're right, I'm not sleeping well. My body aches, and the little guy's kicking is actually waking me up once or twice at night.

Actually he was super active yesterday - more so than usual and was giving me strong, hard kicks low in my belly which were quite uncomfortable and lasted most of the day and night. So the growth spurt theory could explain that. DH couldn't believe how violent he was

Thanks for worrying
I really don't think it's my heart though. I don't have a weak heart or anything, its the sort of condition that causes zero symptoms until the aorta splits in which case it causes pretty obvious symptoms that I couldn't miss. My blood pressure and heart rate are normal, so I'm sure my heart is fine

It's true. When our daughter eats an entire plate of food, or asks for seconds, we tell her "no shoes for you!
" because that's when she outgrows her shoes (and pants get too short). She once shot up almost 3" in six months!

I remember reading that when you are pregnant, your blood volume increases by 50%!

Let us know what your doctor says on Wednesday, O.K.?
