We were out of town from Thurs. to Sun. afternoon. While we were away my friend came over once a day to feed Dusty and pet her. She stayed 30 min to several hrs. so the cat shouldn't have been too traumatized.

So we get home at 2 pm on Sunday, and for the next 6 hrs. Dusty meowed non-stop. I let her out, she wanted in. We did this exercise 8 or 9 times! Her constant crying was driving me nuts. But today she is back to normal. Was she just cussing us out for leaving her for 4 days?

It's entirely possible.
That's what we always claimed about our cats. Some will tell you off, others give you the silent treatment.

Ours were similar after our long weekend away. They were very affectionate and chatty all evening, and then spent much of the night pestering us from the other side of the bedroom door!

We put it down to separation anxiety - and hope they soon get back to normal!

Sounds like she was just making sure you were still her personal slave!
If she's back to normal now, she's fine. She just wanted to make sure her humans were still properly trained. Gotta love 'em!

My guy does that. My mother sits him when I go away and he'll cry her a sob story every day, and when I return it's non stop. I just answer him and tell him I'm home now and let him go on until he's done yelling at me and he moves on. I'm pretty sure he's yelling at me for leaving him... I mean how dare I go on vacation!

She's back to normal now. Hubby left yesterday for a business trip, and I had a class last night so got home late. She was crying some, but needed her pets and wouldn't leave me alone. She had to snuggle under my chin and required all my attention for the next hour! She is so needy and requires lots of lap time - not that I'm complaining. It's really sweet!

My tabby, Sunny ignores me for a few hours and then won't leave me alone! Sounds like she was giving you an earful!!
