About Cindy Sheehan is going to run for Nancy Pelosi's position IF Pelosi doesn't set in motion impeachment proceedings against Bush.

Is that for real?

I wonder how this will shake out. Will the Democrats cave?

No idea what MoveOn has to do with it. If they're involved you're the first to know about it.

But it's about time somebody started holding politicians accountable for their actions.

And there is plenty of reason to give Pres Bush a trial to see if he has comitted any crimes. Maybe the Republicans should have thought harder about lowering the bar for impeachments before they tortured the country over a private issue.

Cave? Democrats? Saying that implied that they had a spine to begin with.

I'd love to see this race if she does run.

I wasn't a big follower of the Sheehan thing, just catching it when it popped up in the news. But I think this is kind of sad, because it seems to me to cheapen anything she may have tried to do in her son's name. Now it just looks like her entire campaign was just to "get her name out there" so that she could run for something

I really don't think so. IMO, she is just doing what she thinks is right.

Remember, government is supposed to be "for the people, BY the people."

I think she's just trying to do the right thing - she's taking ACTION, which is so much better than what most folks do: sit around and complain, yet never do anything to make a difference.

I applaud her for taking the risk.

Come on now, where do you think Cindy Sheehan has gotten her financing?

My point was, who is Cindy Sheehan to give the Democratic party ultimatum's? Ultimatum's are never good. And she even put a 2 week
deadline on it. So, Cindy Sheehan is giving orders to the Democratic party now?

No, Cindy Sheehan is telling her government that she doesn't like their actions and if they don't shape up she will challenge them in the next election, which anyone, including you, is free to do.

It's not really an ultimatum when it comes from one of your constituents, saying that implies that Nancy Pelosi has some kind of inherent right to her position and it would be unfair for someone to run against her because they disagree with what she's doing.

What do you mean "Come on now, where do you think she's getting her financing?" A) 'Come on now' implies I'm refusing to see the obvious, which is odd because you've presented nothing but conjecture about MoveOn's involvement and B) Her financing for what? A campaign that hasn't happened yet? She's been paid who-knows-how-much for numerous interviews over the years, and I doubt she would have trouble fundraising if she did start a campaign. There are all kinds of laws preventing MoveOn from solely financing a campaign; PACs aren't allowed to campiagn positively for one single candidate and MoveOn has a lot more important thingas to do.

Cindy Sheehan has received backing from MoveOn.org, that is old news.

To me, when she said, "start impeachment proceedings within 2 weeks OR I will run againt you"
that IS an ultimatum in my book.

They helped other families of military go to one of her peace vigils, and suddenly they're funding her political campaigns?
