This is Little Mindy. (I call her Mindy Lou Who - after Dr Seuss' Cindy Lou Who
). She's about a year old and has been in my care for 6 weeks. Some flaming idiot threw her outside where she gave birth and then was hit by a car.
. She was brought to a shelter where they immediately stuck a "Euthanize" on her cage.
We went and picked her up that night, called in our local vet and had her looked at. She had a broken leg and a busted hip, but was the sweetest cat ever - so we said - operate if you can. $1800 later
she is recovering beautifully! She was confined to a cage for 6 weeks because they could not pin her hip, only her leg and were worried about her throwing it out again. She does walk a little funny, but the vet said it was the best she could do. When she walks, she looks like she's walking bow-legged, just like a cowboy. It's actually quite funny and we were thinking of renaming her Annie Oakley.
She has fur like a rabbit and is so damn sweet! I can't wait to adopt her out to a loving family. They will immediately fall in love with her.
On a much sadder note though...we never did find her kittens.
