Hello everyone!!

I have kits that are about 3 1/2 weeks old. They've been nursing really well all along as momma has been a wonderful kitty and produces lots of milk.

But just in the last couple of days the kits seem to be having a bought of diarreah and I don't know what would be causing this.

Any ideas on what direction I should go in for care or information?

Does it seem to be uncontrollable? Just kind of squirt out unpredictably? There is a parasite in kittens that can act like a virus. Its called Coccidia and its easy to treat. it only occurs in kittens because there immune systems are weaker than adults.

Take a sample of feces to your vet for examination and explain what you think it might be. I once treated 14 kittens for 2 weeks for 8 dollars, lol. They were between 5 and 8 weeks old. You will have to keep giving them the medication even after it seems to have cleared up because it will contaminate the soil(if there outside) If not then just change there bedding and wash everything around them with a strong cleaner._

Thanks!

Momma seems like she's having a tough time keeping up with them, it looks like they may be tinkling a bit too here and there.

Yesterday I introduced them to some solid food and one took to it right away, another was pretty interested and tried it but the other 4 were not interested at all. I also have a low sided pan with litter in it that I've put the babies in after trying the food to get them used to that as well.

I'll keep track of how they progress and attempt to see if it's just momma not able to keep up with them all or it seems uncontrolled.
