Ok... My cat Mowgli is pretty dehydrated, extremely skinny, and has some brownish stuff by her mouth. It's not foamy, so I really hope it's not rabies.
She's not afraid of water or anything. We're getting her to the vet as soon as possible, but I was wondering if anyone knew what this was.

Thanks, Kelsey

She needs a vet...that's good that you're going.

My first thought on the "brownish" stuff is dried drool. The drooling and dehydration often go together.

Foamy drool doesn't always mean rabies, but it's not a good sign. Let us know how it goes at the vet. I'll be thinking of you and Mowgli.

I have no idea what it could be, but I do know dehydration isn't good. Take her to the vet, ASAP!

I live in Texas too, and I've had a lot of problems w/ my cats since moving here (I'm originally from up north, where the drastic cold kills a lot of germs & diseases). It never gets cold enough here to kill a lot of nasty stuff. I wouldn't take any chances..
