Last week I ordered three items from an upscale gardening catalog (which also has stores) I ordered enough to qualify for a free shipping offer (saved $17.95) I received two packages today each containing one item. One item was a small (3" x 3") can of oil for gardening tools. It came in a bubble wrapped in a box that was 6 x 10 x10!! The other box contained gardening type shoes-this shipping box was over twice the size of the shoe box!! I haven't received my. third item which is a pair of gardening ipp gloves I hate to see what size box those will arrive in.

All of these items could be sent in one box and I am going to email the company to "advise" them!!

And yet going into the store would have saved you $17.95 and you wouldn't now have the extra rubbish to dispose of

I've gotten DVDs from Amazon in the past and had to go to the PO to pick up the package, it wouldn't fit in the mail box. One DVD in a huge box. Ridiculous!

Hey, at least the kitties will enjoy the empty boxes. I does seem silly sometimes. What I love are the boxes inside of boxes inside of boxes, all full of peanuts and newspapers. Now, I can understand that if I'm buying china or crystal, but I ordered a book off ebay once, and it came in 3 different boxes. I was like...come on! A box isn't going to break!

When I order books they sometimes send out 3 books in 3 different packages on the same day. Ridiculous!

I e-mailed the company this morming-their website states 2 business days for a response.

This company does not have a store in Wisconsin and there was a free shipping offer if one spent more than $75 (I spent $75.99).

The kits do not seem interested in the boxes....yet!!

That happens to me all the time. It seems as if Amazon only has a few standard sizes of box, none of them small enough for one DVD or one small paperback.

Of course, there are companies that go the opposite route. One time I ordered two 35 lb. bags of cat litter, and a 7 lb. bag of food. The supplier sent everything in one box! I thought our mailman was going to have a hernia from lifting that. He insisted on bringing it into the house for me (hubby wasn't home), so that I could unpack the box inside. I wouldn't have been able to budge it otherwise.

RI the littlest stop on the map..........
This is to real.... I'm always saying the same thing I can't understand why companies do this .
I'm a big on line shopper with a pet-peeve when it comes to shipping chargers I know there are cost required for shipping but some are outrages sometimes the shipping cost can be just as much as a item ....ok enough about that.
I have ordered a small item when it would arrive the box would be so hugh I couldn't put my arms around it and this has happened more then once.. what a waste .

I have actually never had that problem. I don't order much online, but sometimes I buy books off of the chapters website and they have nice small boxes that fit a book.
