Just curious if anyone has had this on their cat. She is going to the vet tomorrow. Just today we noticed a lump on her back that is all fluid, it is starting to seep a tad, it's clear drainage, smells a bit infected. I know she has an infection there from bite or something. I looked for a tick, none, She did not get bitten by anything large she has no tears or cuts. Maybe a bee sting? I was hoping maybe someone had seen this and I can know what to expect at the vet tomorrow. I am praying she did not get bit by anything venomous, like a brown recluse or black widow spider. I was hoping they could work her in today but they can get her in tomorrow, she seems to be fine other than the area is tender. She is eating and drinking OK. Any advice I would greatly appreciate.
Thanks,
Carrie

My cat, Bella, had to go to the vet about... 3 months ago-SAME THING! Except I didn't actually feel the bump. Your bump is most likely a sac of pus from the bite. My vet swore that my cat had been bitten by another cat or dog-she was seperated-not around any other animal... But she very well could have bit herself. The vet will drain the pus out, give you some antibiotics for about 2 weeks, maybe ointment (they gave me some) and they will want to do a check up too.

If you click on my username and look up my post titled "Very late Bella update!" you will see the mess I went through with my cat. (Stupid vet, cat with undiagnosed back problems that turned out to be a vertebre that was broke, nothing to do with the pus though)

Good luck to you and your baby, keep us updated.

If you are taking her to the vet tomorrow, the only thing I would do is try and put a warm moist cloth on the swelling to draw out the pus and ease the pain,if she will let you. But really, she should be fine just leaving it alone. Hope the vet visit goes smoothly.
