Please Help!!

I rescued a kitten from the side of the road yesterday and I noticed that she is very shaky. Her head wobbles and she walks kinda like she's drunk. She has no external injuries that I can see and seems gentle and affectionate(i.e. she purrs when held and petted). She eats and drinks normally. I am wondering if she has a central nervous system disorder. She doesn't act like she is sore anywhere or I would assume that she had been hit by a car. I want to make sure that these are not the symptoms of a contagious disease as I have other kittens and a mama cat. Any help would be appreciated!!

I don't have a lot of experience with kittens, so take this for whatever its worth.

It sounds to me though, like a nervous disorder. If you can take this kitten to the vet, that's probably the best choice. At least then, you'll know for sure.

Where in Texas are you, if you don't mind me asking?

Thank you for rescuing the baby!

A trip to the vet is in order. Both to find out what is going on with the kitten and to be sure she doesn't have anything to pass onto the ones you already have.

Definitely have the kitten seen by a vet and DO keep it separated from your other cats, wash up after handling the kitten before touching your other cats (and even have a smock or something you can change out of after handling the new kitten) until the vet gives you a clean bill of health.

Lastly, thank you for taking in this dear little soul and being there for it.

I am in Southeast TX , near Beaumont, and I have called vets and local humane society to see if there are any low-cost programs that will assist. I am having no luck. I have 1 momma cat and 4 kittens and a dog and 4 kids already to take care of.
