My cat hates water... but this week he's been sick and I've been trying to get the medicine in his mouth and it winds up all over him because he's so darn squirmy. The best I could do is put water on my hand, just enough that my hand is not dripping, and pet him, pulling at the dirtied hair. He doesn't seem to mind that if I do it just right. Is that enough? Will he get the rest? I don't want him to wind up a matted mess.

Could you use a damp cloth on him and try to get a bit at a time? Seb hates baths too, but when it is hot outside, he likes a short rub down with a cool cloth. I'm sure some more experienced people will be along with more advice. Hope he feels better soon!

Try using a wet wash cloth with a little soap and then rinse good. I know what you mean about the medicine. Is it the "pink stuff"??? Amoxicillin?
