Just found out today that she died from lung cancer yesterday.
. She was one of my alltime favorite singers and the reason I started liking Opera.

She was an excellent soprano. Last night our PBS station repeated a Great Performances episode about her.
I kept my fingers crossed and they did show her appearance on the Muppet Show!

I didn't know who she was, but may she RIP
I loved her for not having a superior attitude, as so many opera stars seem to. And for her sunny nature! I'm not a big opera fan, but she was a great ambassador for the art.
