The vet I will be taking my new kitten to only gives two rounds of FVRCP. Is that OK? I have found that most vets give/recommend three rounds.

Also, can the rabies shot be given at the same time as the 2nd (and final) FVRCP shot? If I do it separately, the vet charges a $38 fee in addition to the vaccine.

Thanks,
Kyle

Hiya!

My vet says that two shots for COMPLETELY indoor cats are fine - but 3 is recommended if you are unsure that your cat would be 100% indoors!

As for the rabies - my vet recommends that it be done on month 4 (16 weeks) with the 3rd and last round of vaccinations.

Hope this helps!

It also depends on what age the kitten is as per what vacciantion it gets.

My vet does it - 8 weeks, then 12 week booster, and then final booster with rabies at 16 weeks.

Unless kitten is 12 weeks or older, then it starts with the second vaccination and only need the booster the 3-4 weeks after, along with the rabies.
