At the moment they have got on ok there has been few spits , hisses and paws out from both of them but the older male cat seems to not want to know me at the moment, do you think he is a bit jealous or he is scared of the new female kitten?

probably a little of both, hissing and spitting are all normal. they will take time to get back to normal, just be patient.

I just dont want him feeling jealous
As cute as a kitten is, keep in mind to always greet the older cat/dog first when you come home - lessens the jealousy
