I agree with many others here that you can just walk in and out of all the nice hotels - they're pretty amazing, air-conditioned, and is a good way to see The Strip and spend some time. As far as gambling, the stakes tend to be higher on The Strip - especially on weekends - so if you guys want to play lower stakes table games you'll need to go to "old Vegas" in the Fremont area.
It used to be that if you signed up for the hotels' gambling players' clubs you'd get lots of free coupons and great discounts. It seems that has lessened over the years, but still a good way to get some discounts!
has the music-timed water show, which is free and giant outside their casino. They also have a large shopping area with really high end stores. Good for window shopping, but that's about if you're on a budget!
However, the inside is beautiful and absolutely worth seeing. Usually they have a seasonal display that is amazing.
is on the same scale and worth a fun walk around. They actually have a Ferrari dealership IN the hotel and you can check out the cars up close and personal.
has a volcano that erupts periodically, in addition to the Sigfried and Roy tigers. You can see some of the animals for free; others you'll have to pay for (mentioned by someone else previously).
Personally, I would say skip the free show outside of Treasure Island
(aka TI). It's called Sirens now and is no longer really a "pirate" show. It used to be cooler, but now it's just skimpy women dancing around and lip synching. Also avoid it if you have claustrophobia or anxiety issues - it can get PACKED outside the building for the show. Last time I was there I went into full-blown attack and that has NEVER happened to me before. I was totally penned into the crowd and apparently it freaked me out!MGM Grand
has the free lion exhibit. Fun to walk in there and look at the big cats.Paris
has some good eateries and if you want to spend the money you can go up the Eiffel Tower. I've heard mixed reviews on whether it's worth the cost or not.
is also really cool. Again, lots of shopping - check out the "sky" in the hotel.
You are in luck with Caesars
- they have an INCREDIBLE shopping plaza. You could easily walk around there all day. The last time I was there I saw Pete Rose, the baseball player famous for lots of things
, signing autographs at the sports store.
WHEW. There is SO MUCH MORE
that I can't even begin to get into. You'll see when you get there. Make use of the free people-movers when you can between hotels. And take water with you when you go walking - you will definitely need it!
Have a great time! I love Vegas!
