Last night I was working quite late and fell asleep on the living room couch. Early this a.m. I woke to this weird whirring-buzzing noise (loud) In the dark I could hear what sounded like leaps and then a few crashes! As I walked across my floor to the lightswitch, I felt these furry bodies in my way, the kittens were on the prowl and active. Before I hit the lightswitch, something grazed my cheek and startled me.

When I turned on the light, I had my two kittens and a few cats in active stages of pursuit after about 5 of these low-flying beetles that come out this time every year. The beetles were trying desperately to get airborne, and my one kitten Squirrel was trying hard for that NOT to happen!

Thankfully, these beetles are very hardy, and I managed to capture them all and put them outside. The noise they make and how low they fly make them a perfect target for inquisitive kittens! None of them seemed any worse for wear and immediately they took flight. Right now, my kittens are very angry that I spoiled their fun at the Beetle International Airport.

That is such a cute story! Peedoodle will kill crickets if they get in the house, or any beetle really, but if he sees a spider, he freaks out and runs away.

That would have been funny to catch on videotape!

That is funny. I love when my cats stare at the walls and ceilings. I know they see shadows and bugs. They eat centipedes if they find them, and I am so glad. Those things give me the creeps.
