ppl with asthmatic cats- need litter advice!

hi i have a boy with mild asthma- he 's just on an anti histamine at this point,

i need to find a cat litter that is safe for him, so far i've read that dust free and scent free is best,
but i also think i saw that corn litter is not good, but i have no idea why that would be?
can you recommend a good litter? i have some swheat scoop, some worlds best cat litter (corn) and some cat attract and this new litter, non clumping made with paper but unfortunately it has scented little crystal like things - i havent tried that one yet, i didnt realize it was scented when i ordered it, i got it because it say dust free - and it IS dust free

any advice greatly appreciated!!

I have experimented with different litters and I find that Catsan nonclumping crystals work best for my Wellington, who is asthmatic. I have tried many others and he always seems to start coughing again after a few days.

Dr Elsey's Precious Cat scoop in unscented. On another board I read there's a lady who uses that for her asthmatic cat. We used it for a while, but stopped because of the price.

I too have a cat with asthma, and I find that no matter what litter I use he never has an issue. Uno has had asthma now for over 2 years and all I use is an inhaler for the occasinal flare ups. I also think that Uno's asthma is a reaction to a chicken food allergy-once we stopped feeding him food with chicken in it his asthma has basically gone away except for a flare up maybe 2 times a year. In my opinion I don't think the litter has a huge effect on them-but I also don't know how bad your kitties astma is. I wish the 2 of you the best of luck and some good breaths are heading your kitties way!

Moo has asthma and I have been using tidy cat 3 clumping multicat unscented. No dust!! Also never use a covered litter box it can trap what lttle bit of dust that is in the litter.
