What a question..but I need an answer
Why does my 6-7 week old foster kitten (male) have a stinky butthole?
He is very active, eating, growing (1lb 14 oz.)..but his rear is a little protruding and is always stinky. I looked, it is clean. Maybe he is a gassy kitty? I have 3 of them and the other two are fine..no smell!
Any ideas?

Has he been wormed? What kind of food are you feeding. Worms or poorer quality food can cause smelly stools.

His stools are fine I am talking about his rear end. He has a stinky odor all the time. He was just weaned from KMR and is eating Purina Kitten chow and some wet food..Friskies Poultry platter..
They will got to the vet this week....they are only 4 ounces away from there 2 pound weight that they have to be to be fixed and then given up for adoption.

A few years back we had a girl kitty named Misha. We called her 'skunky bum' because her behind just stunk. She didn't have any cling-ons ever, just a stinky butt. We didn't put much thought into it - just accepted it as a part of her. It never changed, even if we changed her food. I know I'm not providing any suggestions here - just a little bit of support to say "ya, I know what you mean and I feel for you" ( and your nose!!)

I realize that
...I just left out the explanation for my questions. If his anal glands are full, that could cause a stinky butt. A common reason for full anal glands would be soft stools.

He always had a stiky butt..I think his glands might be full..his butt-hole looks puckered out. I will call vet tomorrow .he has been wormed two times already..so I think worms are not the problem. I nick-named him stinky butt
