So i'm looking into adopting a kitten and i was wondering about when a person says that the kitten has has its vaccinations which ones they mean. I know that some shots come in 3 rounds but, i have no idea which ones they are. When i got Luna all they said i needed for her was a rabies vaccine.

also, how old is old enough for a kitten to get fixed?

if i'm adopting from craigs list should i get the kitten tested for anything? if i'm adopting a 10 week old kitten, how do i tell if he's 10 weeks old? I have more, but I think i'll start with this!

So I apologize for posting a lot of threads recently, but I want to make sure everything with the new kitten and Luna go OK. I'm so glad this site is here, i've learned so much so far!! ^_^

The kitten is vaccinated for Panluekopenia, Rhinotracheitis, and Calicivirus. The kitten will need to be vaccinated for those again 4 weeks after the last ones were given. Vaccinations usually go at 8 weeks, 12 weeks and then 16 weeks. Kittens can be fixed when they weigh 2 lbs but it is hard to find a vet who will do pediatric spay/neuters. Call around and ask vets. I would test the kitten for Feline Leukemia and Feline Immunodeficiency Virus Infection.
