So I just got glasses (yesterday) because I got tired of straining my eyes. my vision isn't too bad, but because I have an astigmatism in one eye the doc and I figured glasses would be my best answer... So i bought a pair of coach frames (dont know why i couldnt have just went with a basic pair, but I figured if I got to wear them from here on in, might as well look good
) Anyways I have a pic so you know what I look like without glasses and one with... I need to know if I picked a decent pair or if I made a silly decision. I have color pics and black and white pics... Also I was thinking on getting those transitional lenses if anyone has feedback on those (they change to sunglasses when you step into sunlight)... here goes...

Be honest please

Thanks... I feel like Lisa Lobe for some reason... I never had glasses before so I am kind of self conscience about the whole thing... I hate drawing attention to myself and I know its coming... Everyone at work is going to ask me about them (since Ive never worn glasses in my life), lol hopefully no one will notice.

I know I am obsessed (I have three coach bags too)... The frames alone cost me $250 but I got a discount because my father used to be a member of the union when he was alive... So for the initial eye test, the lenses, an additional $13 test, and the frames I spent $300. I picked black because my hair is black (well not naturally, naturally it is blonde) and figured it would go best??? Oh yeah and they were ready within 2 days (she told me it would be about a week and a half)...

First, great choice! They fit your face, proportion-wise. The color is just right. I have been wearing glasses since 5th grade. You do get used to them. Being able to see all that detail is just priceless, as well

I know people who would rather look at a fuzzy world than have to deal with wearing glasses for whatever reason. Not me! I love seeing everything. With glasses, I see better than most people I know
Enjoy it!

edit: I am near-sighted with an astigmatism, too.

Yeah I am near sighted... Not too blind, they didnt tell me my vision numbers but i think on the comp I saw it was 28/29... I only have the astigmatism in my right eye... Weird. Thanks for the straight forward answers.

Very cute glasses! Or maybe it's just you that's cute, but either way I think they're very nice.

It's always hard when you first get glasses/change prescriptions to focus properly, but it really does go away after awhile. My Mom tried the transitions glasses and doesn't like them too much. Apparently they "transition" at times when you're not wanting to wear sunglasses, like when you're sitting inside.
She says she'd never get them again.

Over the river and through the woods...
I think they look great on you! They will take some time getting used to. I normally wear contacts now, so everytime I put on glasses, it takes a while to ignore the periferial vison thing. But, after a while it becomes second nature. One thing with glasses though...if you start getting headaches around the ears, get them adjusted. When I first started wearing them, I used to end up with really bad headaches by the end of the day. After a few weeks, I went to talk to them (I thought the prescription was wrong). Here it turns out the "arms" just needed to be loosened a bit. They adjusted them when I first got them, but sometimes it takes a few weeks to really know how they fit.

As for the darkening lenses, my mom had them and didn't like them either. Of course, this was like 15 yrs ago so they probably have improved. But, her's would darken if she was outside and went inside where there was light. I haven't talked to anyone that has gotten them recently.

But, the glassses look great! Good choice.

I like them
You look really good in them.

The best thing that I have found with brand name frames is that they will last you FOREVER. I had a pair DKNY frames that I purchased my last year of high school. I upped the lens over time as my vision changed, but I finally bought a new pair last year...so they lasted 10 years.

I was thinking that the transitions lenses would probably change in neon light setting inside... It says they adjust to UVA and UVB rays but for some reason Id imagine they would adjust in any bright light setting. That is why I am weary to try them... I think Ill call my vision place and ask them for some feedback. It sounds like a great idea but Im not sure that it is something reliable.

They are cute! I typically have gotten designer frames because I either have to wear my contacs or my glasses. I mean I can't see without them. So I think it's worth spending the money. It's not like they are some fashion accessory that you can change on a whim. I typically keep my glasses for at least 2 years because I mainly wear contacs. But what I want to do now, is just get the frames I have upgraded with new lenses, so long as these are still decent looking on me!
