Awhile back I came across the formula for figuring out cat's age vs human age. It makes sense. (and no its not the 7 yr rule)

First cat year is equal to about 20 yrs old in human years. Every year after that you calculate 4 human years. So a 2 yr old cat would be 24. Makes sense if you think about a 6 month old female (having kittens) would be about 15 for human female.

So Spooky (15 1/2 when he died) would have been :20 + 4 x 14 = 76

Good to know! I had always heard the 7 year rule wasn't accurate but I didn't know how to calculate apart from that. Cats grow so quickly in their first year.

Those charts are very helpful! Thanks for posting them. I read about GoldenKitty's method a few years ago and I've been using that one ever since. I notice that all four charts more or less agree with it on my cats' ages.

those charts make more sense than the old multiple by seven ....

I always did the by 5...

18*5=90 which is about right ....
