I made Diego cry

So I got home today, gave Diego a hug and a kiss, got his food ready with his medicine, he sat down to eat it so, I left and closed the door. I like to let him have no interaction with Neko when eating (even though he has pushed Neko out the way and started eating his food. Neko just sat there looking at him thinking what a cheek)
Anyway as soon as I left the room he started crying, he had finished his meal rather fast (was only a spoonful of wet for the medicine) so I prepped his usual dry meal and gave that to him. Again he sat down to eat it so I left the room again, and he started crying again. Hadn't touched his dry, I was like "hmmm this is unusual" so I picked him up and said whats wrong? he said meow rubbed his face into mine and started purring .
Then after about 5mins I put him down and he ate his meal.

Moral of this story??? Diego wanted more than a 20 second hug, kiss and hello.

Isnt it wonderfull to know your loved!! 2 of my cats will only eat when we are in the room.

I'm starting to think this is the reason he was losing his appetite.

Aw, that's so sweet. I don't blame him a bit, I hate eating alone too.

When we had CarolCat's little Tianna for a few days before her flight, she wouldn't eat unless I sat beside her on the floor. Made me feel so loved and wanted.

Yes, our kitties love to have us close by when they're eating, or even petting them. And I've noticed at the shelter, whenever I snuggle a kitty, he always goes right for the food when I put him back in his cage. I guess they associate all their comforts... love, food, sleep... love, food, sleep...

Awww!! My kitties are like that too. It's become a routine that before they eat they each get picked up and cuddled for a few minutes before eating. Abby rubs against my legs to make sure I remember to pick her up
