Last night I was having a very nice comfy moment with the boys. I was watching a movie, and the three of them were in that wonderful half sleep and wake that only a cat can do. Then the fireworks went off. It didn't go over well.

8-Bit looked at me like the world was ending and started to distress cry. He ran in his panicked state to his Dr. Who closet and wouldn't come out.

Scratch meeped and tried to follow 8- Bit, but there's only room enough for one kitty so he got shut out. Scratch then decided to hide under our covers.

Dr Claw wondered over to our window and watched the display. He seemed totally excited about it.

Only a few more days of this and we are done.

Sounds like the night the EMTs were here when Mom's blood sugar dropped way low. Aristotle went into hiding but Topaz remained on Mom's bed and watched.

I have a feeling that they are going to freak out for the next few days. They 8-Bit and Scratch really hate fireworks.

We have loud planes and helicopters flying over the house all the time, and the furkids are pretty used to loud noises. They have slept through hurricanes as long as one of us is there with them and can reach out a paw to touch us. There are usually not fireworks close to home, so hopefully it will be the same way this year. Most kinds of fireworks are ilegal here, so the really loud ones are not a big issue.

Sonic has never experienced fireworks but Radar loves them- he is suprised that 8-Bit is such a wimp

We both want a Dr Who closet though

This is one of 8-Bit's three fears: 1. The vacuum cleaner. 2. Fireworks 3. The V-E-T

Oh poor babies! My girls don't mind loud noises. Except maybe when the base has an air show and some of the jet will come over really low. Other than that it's rare (like the other night's nasty thunder/lightning storm) that the girls are bothered. I'm glad of that too!
