the vet didnt do any swabs, he took their temps, checked their mouths for ucles SP? which they didnt have any. they have a runny nose, and sneezing some and gizmo had a bit of a cough last night. which seems to have cleared now.
they are eating normally and drinking fine, using the litter tray ok.
so do you think they might have got it wrong? or we just caught it early? we have gizmo who is about 22 weeks, chloe who is about the same age and sophie who is 16 weeks old who have it. apart from the 4 kittens who are nearly 7 weeks all the other cats are over a year old and showing no signs.
nither are the 7 week old kittens. all have been seprated from gizmo, chloe and sophie, their room has been sterlised with dettol like the vet suggested then wiped over with warm water to take away any residue left. the rest of the house has been done the same way. we are washing hands after touching any cat especially those infected.
any advice on this would be fantastic, im worrying so much. but i cant afford to see another vet for a second opuion. as it cost me a bit for this vist.
if i put this in the wrong place im sorry.

when my girls get a runny nose I take them into the bathroom with me, close the door and run the shower for 15 minutes... the humidity really helps clear out the mucus and they feel much better... repeat that 4 times a days for the first days and once a day for a couple more days and you will see great improvements... Good luck...

In my own world, its much nicer there
Diego is just getting over the flu now, me managed to catch it before it spread to his lungs.
Is there and colour in their snot? when they sneeze does any snot come out?

Diego had a green mucus coming out his eye and was sneezing out chunky green snot thats when alarm bells started ringing.

For better info on Diego's problem check my thread,
http://www.thecatsite.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=132317

I'm not sure how helpful this is but at least I can say your not the onlyone with this problem.

If its yellow, then it could very well be the flu. I was to understand from the vet that Diego's is bacterial thats why he was doing the green stuff. Kinda like humans

If its bacterial the vet will give you antibiotics and if its viral he will most likely say you just need to let it run its ciourse. Oh yea and If it is bacterial, you will need to keep him separate from the others, so as not to spread it.

I do hope this is useful.
