My two kittens that we've adopted have been fine for their first two weeks of being at home and then Angel, the girl, who's about 8-9 weeks old now, started to show signs of missing her mom by kneading and sucking on her own belly. (Now she does it whenever I pet her.) And now Tiger, the boy, who's about 10-11 weeks old now, is starting to do the same but sucks/bites my fingers instead. They mew like they would for their mom at me all the time, including in the middle of the night. This has been going on for about a week...
So here are my questions. They were eating kitten chow when my husband and I got them but if they're doing this, should I get the kitten formula or at least the nipple thing for them? Or would that be bad and discourage them from eating the solids? If I shouldn't do anything, then how can I comfort them so they would stop? They already see me as their mom.

At 8 weeks old I was feeding my Ginger THREE wet meals a day in addition to free-feeding kitten kibble.

How often are you giving wet foods? It might simply be that your furbabies are hungry for more than just the dry food and need to be fed more often!

What kind of wet foods? I haven't seen any for kittens in the store.
And they are free fed the kitten chow.

Iams makes a 'kitten' wet, but any high-quality adult wet would probably be ok. i mix Firefox's with kitten formula & a bit of meat baby food. but she'll also snack on the regular wet food i feed the adults, as well as on the kibble.
Cable ate nothing but 'adult' foods from the time i got her [approx. 8 weeks - she was a foundling] & has grown into a very healthy adult. but i feed a pretty high-quality food, both wet & dry. the biggest difference i've seen between 'kitten' foods and 'adult' foods is fat content & protein content. a high quality adult food is high in protein anyway, so if you are careful in your selection, you can use adult foods.
