My fluffy kitten, Sky, has very hairy feet - like I can barely see her paw pads. Is this normal? Do I need to trim them? Her ears are very hairy, too. I would expect a long haired cat to have more hair, but the hair on her feet is very long and I worry about her tracking litter and stuff.

Please don't trim her fuzzy feet - it protects their paw pads, and sweeps your floors all at the same time!

And DEFINITELY do not trim her ear fur - that protects the ear canal.

Some cats, especially those with medium to long fur have extra fuzzy feet. I happen to think it's adorable.

You don't have to trim the furry feet, unless your cat is really messy. I know that some trim the fur under the tail to help keep things clean. But do NOT trim the hair in the ears.

My hairy monster Isaac has hairy feet. I love them. I guess trimming would be OK, but not necessary. I do have a sanitary shave done on him from time to time.

OK, no trimming needed, good to know!
I just wasn't sure if litter would stick and get tracked, hadn't noticed any, but that doesn't mean that it isn't buried under the dog hair on my floor!

I did trim the hair around her bottom when I first got her, she wasn't raising her tail high enough or something and was getting clumpies. I haven't needed to do that lately, though, she must have figured out to squat right!

yes, it is very adorable!! It's one of Stan's best features although it does make nail clipping a challenge.

I only snip his foot fur if he gets a lot of litter stuck to it...like the time he dumped his water bowl, then walked into the litterbox
. He sounded like a dog "click-clack, click-clack" and it looked like it was causing him pain, so after watching him try to bite it off for an hour, I trimmed it off. Not that he recognized that I was trying to help him
.
