Stumpy just went walking past me limping!

Isn't that just so scary when you think your kitty is hurt??!?!?! I ran to her and she rolled onto her side and purred at me and licked the paw that she wasn't putting any weight on.

I had a feel of it and she didn't flinch at all, so I picked her up and put her back on her feet, and got her to come to me and she walked normally.

Man I was relieved... The automatic feeder just went off and she ran over to the food normally, so I'll assume she's fine. She'd just jumped down from the cat tree, so must have just jarred something.

As soon as she's done eating, I'm going to take her back to bed for some snuggles!!!

Over the river and through the woods...
If she was laying on the cat tree, maybe she was laying on it wrong and her foot went to sleep. Or, she could have hurt it jumping down, like you said. Either way, sounds like she is fine, but yes..it would give me a scare!

Can cats have feet go to sleep as well??? Can you imagine jumping down from a cat tree or something like that with a dead leg?? That could be dangerous!

They sure can! I think all the stretching they do after waking up usually prevents injuries when jumping down, though.

I think she was practicing her "poor me" act so that you would stop and give her tummy rubs

I'm glad that she is ok and not hurt. It's awful when an animal or small child is hurt and they can't tell you what happened or exactly where they hurt. It's heart breaking.
