Eeeeeewww! Grooosssssss

"You know you're from Chicago when the thought of ketchup on a hot dog disgusts you"

Seriously though. Hot dogs have the following and ALL OF/ONLY the following:
-STEAMED poppy seed bun
-boiled all beef Vienna Beef hotdog OR, in my case, Tofu Pups
-mustard
-onions
-pickle relish
-tomatos
-sport peppers
-a pickle
-celery salt. You can't forget the celery salt!

And they taste better at 2AM, after being cussed out by the counter staff at the Weiner Circle after the bars have closed and you're staggering home.

And as far as the cheese thing goes, I read somewhere that California is out producing Wisconsin now in the cheese department.. I don't know if that is true or not though.
OMG, I'm from Beloit!!!!

There is good cheese here, but not as much as a variety as was in WI. & it's twice as expensive.

Though I do know now that happy cows come from California.

Heartily seconded. I did that even before the hot dogs I eat were made of vegetables.

I've found that cheese on the bottom, ketchup on top is my favorite way to go. What I can't figure out is how all you heathens consider it a hot dog without ketchup on it...

Well no one has mentioned the condiment choice of many Wisconsinites-sauerkraut!! ( I can only eat it occaisionally in very small amounts) usually at a Packer game too.

There are a few missing from the list:

- Wisconsin's don't go out to dinner at a restaurant, they go to "supper clubs".

- Not only do they recognize an Illinois accent (particularly Chicago), they have a special name for these people: FIP (or FIB).

From a former "FIP".........

This is soooo true! I remember explaining that one to an out of towner...as well as our "Yoopers" term. I lived by Yoopers and besides the fact that they talk funny, I'd deal with them any day compared to a FIB with a gigantic boat on a freeway!

Expect to see a lot this weekend...

I knew that FIB would get you all going!

And for those that don't know what that means, well, let's just say that this is a family forum and we're not going to tell!
