My sister-in-law and my niece were suppose to fly into Heathrow but the bomb scare there delayed them a day. Hang in there Sending moral support.

I would say that as well.

My sister uses both NHS and Private. Private for an infection she gets in her eye now and again because the cream isn't available on the NHS.

I had private insurance through work, I rarely used it apart from to pay for eye exams (and it would have been cheaper for me to just pay for the eye exam than the premiums)

There's been a very visible police presence in Manchester city centre the past few days (bit like having the Labour party conference back!) and there's something a bit odd going on on one of the roads near me. It's a dual carriageway and on the way home from work yesterday I hit a bad traffic jam where there isn't usually one and the hold up seemed to be caused by several police and vans/cars/bikes on the other side of the road. They'd coned off one lane of traffic and were letting cars through slowly a few at a time. On the way in to work this morning I was on that side of the road and they were still there. I didn't see them pull anyone over but there was one car that had obviously been pulled over. Coming home today they are still there and seemed to be searching the boot of a car and still just letting people through slowly. I guess they're doing spot checks or something but there are at least 10 police officers there, a few vans, a couple of cars and a few bikes.

This could just have easily happened in the U.S.:http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn...?tid=informbox
Two of the foreign-born doctors suspected of plotting last week's failed car bomb attacks in London and Glasgow had inquired about applying for medical training positions in the United States, U.S. officials said yesterday.

The industry I work in has been dragged into the fray as well.

The one guy worked as a contractor for an aviation firm.
