do outdoor cats know when something horrible happens to one of the other cats? Like do they act differant? Can they sense something bad happened?

My cats are all indoor only, but I know when we had to have Lizzie put to sleep the other three cats knew she was gone and they all miss her.
Gracie was Lizzie's Sister and Gracie is lost without her.
It's been a month and you can tell that Gracie is still looking for Lizzie.

I would imagine that if these cats all lived together that just because they are outdoor cats they wouldn't mourn the loss of their friend any less than an indoor cat would.

Where whiskers abound.
Yes, I think they know.... when my Princess got murdered by a pack of dogs, my own dog never got over it, she loved Princess. She did not see it happen, just sensed it from a distance.

Cats and other animals have inter-sensorary perception; they know what each is doing and what happens even tho they are great distances apart, sorta like God.

I don't know if my kitties sense tragedies - however, they do know when hubby and i are leaving for a few days (before we even touch a suitcase)

on wednesday, hubby and i decided to "loan" Sneakers to my parents' home after they had to put their kitty - Cooper - down. they were really missing their furry baby.

so, i had been on the phone with both mom and dad about borrowing one of the kitties, and i noticed i couldn't find Sneak.

turns out he was hiding under the bed - which he never ever ever does.

i swear that cat can understand the English language.
