I read that he had Fragile X, that's autism not retardation.

LSULOVER and I know a woman from another forum that has a son with Fragile X. He's nowhere near mentally retarded, but will probably never be able to live alone or survive by himself. He is smart enough to hold down a job and go to regular schools, but not maintain a household alone.

I would say it was the father who was retarded, doing something like this. He had to have had some type of mental problem.

That's such a tragedy. I feel so sorry for the families of the Benoits.

They were having problems coping with this...I wonder if he just snapped, couldn't handle it. Or if he didn't want his son & family to have to deal with it. It's all so confusing.

If he couldn't handle it, he should have left.NOT taken his childs life.
Somebody should have stepped in along time ago and taken the child.

From what i have been reading, they had been fighting over the wife
needing him to stay home, to help her with the child.

the whole thing to me sounds more like someone with depression that was out of control , who just could not deal with life anymore.

it all just seems pointless and sad.

plus he has another son and daughter,not sure where they were
at the time of the killings...This is so sad

I just read something yesterday that is really weird about this whole thing. Wikipedia had info about his wife's death 14 hours before the cops found them.

His two other kids, boy age 14 i think & girl age 10, live in Canada and that was where they were when this happened.

Last night on Nancy Grace they had some guy Chris Jericho who was real good friends with Benoit for like 15 yrs and he never knew about the little boys illness. In fact no one knew about it. It was something Benoit never disclosed. There appears to be some speculation that this may have happened because the boy was coming to the age where he had to go to school and Benoit did not want it to get out that his son had this illness. Don't know if I believe that or not.

There is also the rumor going around they were all murder and there was no suicide.

on the local news, it said that he killed the wife and son over a weekend, and was in the house with the dead bodies for a day or so before taking his own life.

It may sound odd saying this, but I wish that were true. I dunno, it's just kind of weird, after watching this guy for years, & cheering for him, I don't want to believe he's a murderer.
